Vacation extented

A few days before we went camping we got some bad news about Jon's Dad. He lives in California and had gone into the hospital because he had been passing out and having other issues for a little while. They admitted him and started the tests. All we new was that he had about 8 masses on his brain and all they would continue to say was, "It does not look good." He has had cancer twice and has recently been put in remission, so we assumed it was related to that. For days we were waiting to hear results. We were hesitant to go camping without knowing the results but we found out we had reception where we were camping so our family promised to update us on any news. The camping trip came and went with out any updates. We got home on Monday night and Tuesday morning got a call from our Jon's Brother who had been in CA staying with their Dad. He said that the results were still not back but their Dad had taken a turn for the worst. He was unable to walk and talk much at all. He had been at the hospital with him 24 hours a day for 5 days and needed some help. Jon was able to get work off and we were on the road that evening. The ride down was and interesting one. Were we going to say our good byes? Were we going to help pack his house to move him up here, as had been discussed before he took this resent dive. We arrived and Jon dropped us off at his Dads house and anxiously headed to the hospital. For the next week he would take the night shift and his brother would take the days. They never wanted to leave him alone. A few days into our stay we got some good news. Much to everyone's surprise the test results came back that it was not tumors. It is a treatable condition. He has an infection that can be treated with antibiotics. For most people, their bodies fight off things like this with out a problem but since he has no immune system from his recent cancer it was able to get to his brain. The kinks have not been ironed out yet, when will he improve, has it done any permanent damage, but we are hopeful and it is looking better. Amongst all of this Bennett and I still managed to have some fun.
He got to play with his cousins who live in California who we don't get to see very often.

The Elephant Bar, my favorite place to eat down there.

Hanging out at Poppy's.

With his badge on, Bennett was ready to go visit his Poppy.

The Dr needed Pops to wake up. They thought if Bennett did it he could not get annoyed. But it was no use, he slept on.

Children under the age of 2 are not allowed to visit, so if any one asks Bennett turns 2 when he enters the hospital doors. We fudged a little because we knew how happy it would make Poppy. And it did. I forgot my camera for his first visit but he was responsive and tried his best to make faces at Bennett.
We were able to stay for a week. On our way home Bennett was getting annoyed so we stopped in Vegas for a break.

SO MUCH CANDY!!

Loved M&M guy....
