"IT"

After the doctor appointment I took Bennett to a school I used to work at to show him off. It turned out to be the worst idea I have had as a mother thus far. But I am sure it won't be long till I top the charts with another.
He was so fussy from having his shots, he would not let anyone but me hold him without crying. As I was bouncing him and catching up with the ladies, the sound of us chatting was drowned out by the sound of my son "relieving himself". It was a bit embarrassing, but not as embarrassing as what followed. My friend said, "Ummmmmm, MarKey. IT is coming out of his pants." Sure enough, I look down and IT was running out of both pant legs, and making a lovely puddle on his socks.
I really like to consider myself prepared for times like these, but of course not today. His clothes were unsalvageable. IT drenched every piece of clothing he had on. I had to strip him down, while he was screaming of course, and put him in a clean diaper and a blanket until I got him home to a bath. But all the cleaning was not done alone, my friends jumped in and were not afraid to get their hand dirty (literally). "You know your friend are true, when they are not afraid of your child's pooh." (I made that line up just now. You can quote me if you want.)
So all in all, Bennett did not give the best first impression. Hopefully he will bring his real self next time to make a better second impression.
