BabyMoon to Cancun

Back in June we took a vacation, just Jon and I and our great friends.....NO KIDS. We had never done it before and I can admit now that I dreaded leaving him for the months prior. It was a weird feeling to not be so gitty to go on an exotic vacation but I just couldn't find it. Once we got on the plane and landed all that went away. The entire trip, although I missed him, I kept thinking to myself that this would be so hard if we had kids. It was hot, humid, food was not familiar, alot of walking and waiting. All of which we gladly handled for the sake of a great experience, but little ones probably could not.

Enough chatter, on to some pictures.....Here were some of the highlights:

Giant iguanas were everywhere.

Dinner Cruise-Some sweet friends of our friends hooked us up with a dinner cruise. A giant dolphin was playing around our boat, an added bonus.

We had fun but going with these 2 made it fantastic. Jeff served his mission there so we had like a little insiders guide with us. They had some friends that lived there that were so nice and hospitable. They took us to church with them. It was a great experience to sit with others of our faith and sing and listen, even though we had no earthly idea what they were saying. They also took us to a lazy boy theater. We sat in big comfy recliners while waiters walked around to wait on us. We definitely need some of those over here in the U.S.

Tulum, our favorite part. We requested a LDS tour guide, which made it all the more fascinating. I think this picture should be a postcard. Carly took it, all the big beautiful pictures are thanks to her. Click on them if they are cut off, to see the whole fantastic picture.

Our resort. Much fancier than we are used to and we loved it!!

Jon taking his siesta.

Our little pool on our balcony.

Xcaret-pronounces ish-car-ed.....I think. It is like the culture center for Cancun.
Alot of nature and animals scattered amongst some small ruins.

Alot of naked, yelling guys putting on shows.....if your into that sort of thing.

They had hammocks scattered all over the park. Every amusement park should do this.
We took a long swim/snorkel in the cenotes. They are an underground, natural, lazy rivers. I am sad we didn't get any pictures of them because they were our second favorite part.
The view from the top.

In the weeks leading up I thought 7 days seemed so long, but it was just right. But our 4 hour plane ride was the longest of my life. We could not wait to get home to see this cute guy. Bennett had so much fun staying with his "Gma & Wampa" and "Wilo, Naten, and Nalee"(my parents and my sister's family). I don't even think he had time to miss us at all. He did so great and never even asked for us, which was my biggest fear. He was happy to have us home though and wouldn't let us out of his sight for the next week, which I secretly loved.

I'm ready to go back. :-)

By the way, I can send you those pictures if you want so you don't have to have them be so big.
