Eating My Words

When writing my previous post, I hesitated before putting down #98. "Bennett has never been sick" But against my better judgment I put it down. I even wrote after it, "Did I just curse myself?" Well, Yes, yes I did!! No more than 24 hours after I published the post did I notice my Bennett was not acting like himself. He was still sweet as can be but his eating and sleeping habits were all off, and he acted uncomfortable. At 1:00 a.m. I heard him crying. I went in to get him and he had a very runny nose and eyes. We suctioned him out and he slept the rest of the night in my arms.
Conveniently we had his 6 month check up the very next day. I knew that there is not much you can for a cold in infants, but the DR. put my fears of RSV at ease. I guess we are out of the season and this year was a pretty mild one. He was so impressed with how big Bennett got.

It was no surprise to me that his noggin is huge. Every time I get him dressed I have to stretch out the neck to fit it over his giant melon, and it's still a tight fit. I have a bunch of cute summer hat that he never got to wear. I also have a ton of 3-6 month clothes that he never got to wear. He pretty much grew out of 0-3's right into 6-9's. What a champ!!
He took his shots like a trooper. I bought him an octopus for being such a big boy. He only cried a little bit and he was great until that night. He got so fussy and had a fever. I am not sure if it was from being sick or shots or teething. I gave him a dose of tylonol and a cold rag on his giant head but it didn't faze him. I looked over the bottle and come to find out it had expired...........2 years ago........oopsy. So his next dose was up to date and started working right away. He slept in our room again so that I could toss and turn and wake up at every peep. But he had a pretty good night and is off to a great morning.

He is never too sick to be goofy with his Daddy.
