At 5 or 6 months we realized that Bennett had not mastered the sitting up trick yet. So, for the next few days we worked with him and in a short time he had it down. We were so proud and had him sitting up as much as possible.........for about 48 hours. After that period he decided he didn't want to do it any more. He went on sTrIkE. Every time we would try to sit him up, he would go stiff as a board. It was so funny to see his stubborn side come out, but also a little frustrating because we knew he could do it. The strike went on for over a month but I am happy to announce....drum roll please......
It has finally ended and he has been sitting up like a champ for a few days now and loving it.
Although he was on strike from sitting, he figure out some transportation. He rolls everywhere and is always on the go. It is getting hard to hold him or keep him safely contained, he is always squirming to go somewhere. Have you ever seen these chairs. You know, the ones that are so great for babies and safe because they can't get out of it...............wRoNg!! I was fixing his lunch and he was sitting right in front of me on the counter, pretty much exactly where he is in this old picture, look how tiny. (The box tells you not to put them on raised surfaces, but I have never been very good at following rules) All of a sudden he took a dive for the sink handles. SuCeSs!! He popped right out onto the counter, with the handle in arms reach. When I picked him up to see if he was ok, he was so mad at me for not letting him finally get the handles. Silly guy!!
Up next, cRaWlInG. I have to admit, I am a little nervous.
